A Vision For The Hedge Fund Industry.

We believe the hedge fund industry is at an inflection point in terms of operational capabilities and risk management.  This inflection point is due to two factors:  1)  the maturation of the industry as more institutional funds flow into the industry and 2)  the globalization of risk capital.  In terms of an adoption life-cycle, the hedge fund industry has moved past the early adoption stage (endowments, individual investors) and into mainstream institutional adoption.  This stage of growth brings a new set of operational challenges. 

As a whole, the industry has always been able to generate absolute returns.  However, the skills needed to generate returns are not necessarily the skills needed to manage new operational, risk, and reporting challenges. 

This is why we tell everyone, "Don't settle for a plate of time-series returns.  Go into the kitchen and see how the returns are cooked."
